The Gulf County Sheriff’s
Office will be conducting vehicle safety checkpoints and DUI check points
during the months of October and November 2007. The check points will be
held throughout the county to include Highway 98 near St. Joe Beach, Highway
98 and Garrison Ave, C-30 Simmons Bayou, Highway 71 North of White City,
Highway 22 and Highway 22A, Highway 71 and West Arm Creek, Highway 71
Dalkieth Area and Highway 71 near the Calhoun County Line.
On 10/12/2007 Anthony Lee Watts w/m 25 was operating
a vehicle that was stopped for a traffic violation, the deputy found his
license was suspended and he was arrest for DWLSR.
On 10/13/2007 deputies responded to a disturbance in
the Honeyville area, they found Edgar Causey Jr.w/m 46 walking away from a
residence, he informed the deputy he did not need our assistance and
continued walking down the road. The deputy made contact with a neighbor to
see want the problem was, Causey returned to the area and began cussing, he
was arrested for disorderly intoxication.
On 10/14/2007 deputies responded to a disturbance in
the Highland View area, they found that a father and son had become involved
in an argument and the son Jonathan Ray White w/m 19 had hit his father.
Jonathan Ray White w/m 19 was arrested for domestic battery.
On 10/14/2007 a vehicle driven by Antawn Lamont
Sibert b/m 25 was stopped for a traffic violation it was found his license
was suspended, he was arrested for DWLSR during a search of the vehicle
incident to arrest a marijuana cigarette was found near the passenger door
the passenger Tramell A Wooten b/m 21 was arrested for possession of
marijuana.
On 10/14/2007 deputies responded to a disturbance in
the Howard’s Creek area, during there investigation they found a small bag
of marijuana, upon further investigation Henry Chester Johnson w/m 59 lead
the deputies to the back yard and showed them two containers of marijuana.
The deputies confiscated approximately 305 grams (11ozs) of marijuana.
Johnson was arrested for possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and
cultivation of marijuana.
On 10/16/2007 Anita Jones Bernardez b/f was arrest on
a violation of probation warrant, the original charge was expired Drivers
License and possession of marijuana.
On 10/18/2007 Charles Devin Goodwin w/m 24 was
arrested for violation of probation on charges of possession of a controlled
substance and fleeing and attempting to elude.
On 10/18/2007 Sarah Florence Allen w/f 26 was
arrested for trespassing after repeated being told to leave a local
convenience store and refusing to do so.
During the week of 10/11/2007- 10/18/2007 Gulf County
Dispatches handled 365 calls including 42 calls for Emergency Medical
Services and 1 structure fire. Gulf County Deputies handled 289 calls
including serving 54 civil paper 33 traffic stops in which 4 citation and 29
warning were issued, 33 calls from citizens with questions or concerns, 9
disturbances, 8 reports of alleged child abuse, 7 alarms, 6 traffic crashes,
5 prowlers, 3 burglaries, and 131 miscellaneous calls.
