The Gulf County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting vehicle safety checkpoints and DUI check points during the months of October and November 2007. The check points will be held throughout the county to include Highway 98 near St. Joe Beach, Highway 98 and Garrison Ave, C-30 Simmons Bayou, Highway 71 North of White City, Highway 22 and Highway 22A, Highway 71 and Westarm Creek, Highway 71 Dalkieth Area and Highway 71 near the Calhoun County Line.

On 10/20/2007 deputies stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation, one of the occupants John Edwin Brier w/m 36 was found to have a child support warrant he was placed under arrest.

On 10/20/2007 Debra Myrlene Turner w/f 40 was arrested on warrants from Bay County for uttering a forged instrument.

On 10/20/2007 a vehicle driven by Eric Kenneth Cady w/m 23 was stopped for erratic driving, Mr. Cady was arrested for reckless driving, the passenger of the vehicle Brian Alan Britt w/m 23 was arrested for possession of a controlled substance when a baggie of marijuana fell from his pants leg while talking to the deputy.

On 10/21/2007 deputies received a call that said Tony Howard Beck w/m 24 was operating a vehicle on the Doc Whitfield road and that his license was suspended, they deputy verified the information and found Beck Driving a truck near the prison, he was stopped and arrested for DWLSR.

On 10/22/2007 Carolyn Fedd b/f 48 was arrested for failure to pay child support after posting a $500.00 bond she was released from jail.

On 10/22/2007 George Stephen Branch w/m 37 was arrested on a violation of probation warrant the original charge was Felony DWLSR.

On 10/22/2007 Bonnie Francis Duffy w/f 58 was arrested on three warrant for failure to appear on worthless checks.

During the week of 10/18/2007- 10/25/2007 Gulf County Dispatchers Handled 362 incidents including 29 calls for Emergency Medical Services, 3 structure and 1 grass fire. Gulf County Deputies handled 281 incidents including serving 68 civil papers, 31 traffic stops in which 6 citations and 25 warning were issued, 25 calls from citizens with concerns or questions, 6 thefts, 7 traffic crashes, 6 disturbances, 2 burglaries and 141 miscellaneous calls.
