The Gulf County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting vehicle safety checkpoints and DUI check points during the month of April 2008. The check points will be held throughout the county to include Highway 98 near St. Joe Beach, Highway 98 and Garrison Ave, C-30 Simmons Bayou, Highway 71 North of White City, Highway 22 and Highway 22A, Highway 71 and Westarm Creek, Highway 71 Dalkieth Area and Highway 71 near the Calhoun County Line

On 03/22/2008 deputies responded to a report of a man exposing himself at Salinas Park. The reporting individual was able to get the tag on the suspect’s vehicle. Investigators arrested Roy G Norris w/m 59 on 03/25/2008 for indecent exposure.

On 03/25/2008 a vehicle driven by Donnell Alonzo Hills B/m 38 for a traffic violation, Hills was arrested for DWLSR a passenger in the vehicle Eric Elton Wood w/m 32 was arrested for violation of probation.

On 03/27/2008 Robert Lee Colvins Jr b/m 21 was arrested on a warrant for violation of probation the original charges was, DWSLR.

On 03/26/2008 deputies responded to a domestic disturbance, when they arrived the suspect had already left the area, early the next morning they received information that the suspect Richard Scott Dague w/m 43 had returned to the home.  Deputies arrived at the house but Hague would not come to the door, K9 Sibal was put into the house through a window, Dague Surrendered as soon as he saw Sibal, he was arrested for aggravated assault, battery, violation of probation, and failure to appear.

On 03/27/2008 Geoffery A Hodges w/m 40 was arrested on a warrant for failure to pay child support.

On 03/27/2008 deputies responded to a call of a man beating a women in the parking lot of a local convenience store. When the arrived they saw that the victim had blood covering her shirt, they arrested the suspect Gregory Alan Bearden w/m 56 on charges of domestic battery.

On 03/28/2008 Michael Allen Hammond w/m 27 and Randall Ray Holden w/m 28 were arrested for failure to pay child support.

On 03/28/2008 deputies stopped a vehicle on Hwy 98 for a traffic violation, during a search of the vehicle they found about $600.00 worth of crack cocaine. They arrested Jeremy Jermaine Turrell  b/m 20 for possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell; Turrell was on probation in Franklin County for sale of cocaine he was also charged with violation of probation.

On 03/28/2008 deputies arrested Samuel Jefferson Harden W/m 60 for failure to register as a convicted felon and violation of drivers license restrictions.

On 03/29/2008 deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the Beacon Hill area, they determined that the suspect Gary Kline Chisholm w/m 51 had violated and injunction for protection and battered two victims, e was arrested for violation of an injunction for protection and two counts of battery

On 03/29/2008 a vehicle driven by George Mark Thompson w/m 44 was observed weaving back and forth crossing the fog line and the centerline on Hwy 98.  The vehicle was stopped and the driver was arrested for DUI.

On 03/29/2008 a vehicle driven by Sandra Kay McKenzie w/f 52 was stopped on Hwy 71 in Wewahitchka. The driver gave deputies permission to search the vehicle; they located a safe in the rear seat that contained several bottles of loratabs and hydrocodone.  McKenzie stated that the medication was her ex-husbands and she kept them in a safe to keep him from abusing the medications. When questioned further McKenzie admitted to selling the medication she was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell? The medication seized had a street value of approximately $3000.00

On 03/30/2008 Christopher Frank Alvardo was arrested on a warrant for introduction of contraband into a state correctional facility.

During the week of 03/24/2008 – 03/31/2008 Gulf County Dispatchers handled 331 incidents including 27 calls for emergency medical services.
